Idea Cellular announces unaudited results for Q4 and year ended 31 March 2007

Idea Cellular Limited announced its unaudited results for the fourth quarter and for the full year ended 31 March 31 2007. Idea Cellular ended the year with a subscriber base of 14.01 million, augmented by 90.2 per cent over the previous year-end, and reflecting an improvement in national market share from 7.65 per cent to 8.63 per cent. During the third quarter of the fiscal year, Idea launched its service in the circles of UP (East), Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh.
The consolidated revenues for the quarter ended 31 March 2007 of Rs. 13,411 million grew by 54.9 per cent, and EBITDA of Rs.4,690 million is up by 42.3 per cent on a year on year basis. The cash profit from operations of Rs.3,696 million rose by 49.1 per cent over the corresponding quarter last year. The net profit for the quarter ended 31 March 2007 was Rs. 1,934 million, a growth of 65.6 per cent over the same quarter last year.
The consolidated revenues and EBITDA for the full year ended 31 March 2007 were Rs.44,129 million and Rs.15,102 million, over 47.6 per cent and 38.3 per cent respectively, vis-a-vis the previous year. The cash profit for the full year ended 31 March 2007 was 11,751 million representing 54.4 per cent raise. The net profit for the full year ended 31 March 2007 was Rs. 5,033 million, an increase of 137.7 per cent over the previous year.
